We are super-excited and proud to be helping 261 Fearless in their quest to inspire women around the world to get moving, or as we say at Kate Percy’s, to find their #enerjoy.
And what better way to mark #internationalwomensday2021 than to sponsor their fantastic ground-breaking Move The World event with our yummy Kate Percy's Go Bites.
This is a global event that invites everyone, regardless of age, gender or background, to celebrate the joy of movement and experience the global connection of the 261 Fearless community.
Fabulous! We’re with you all the way, ladies!
261 Fearless is an organisation established by Kathrine Switzer, who was the first woman to officially enter and run the Boston Marathon. At that time, the race was considered a male-only event, but using her initials, Switzer managed to obtain an official bib, number 261. Mid-stride in the competition, an angry race director leapt from the press truck and attempted to pull Switzer from the race. In one of sport’s most dramatic moments, Switzer’s burly boyfriend bounced the official off the course, allowing Switzer to go on to finish.
261 Fearless uses running as a vehicle to empower and unite women through the creation of local non-competitive running clubs, education programs, communication platforms and social running events. Their aim is to break down the barriers of geography and create a global community for women runners of all abilities to support, encourage, and inspire on another towards a positive sense of self and fearlessness. 261 Fearless Clubs can be found currently on five continents and there will be more soon!
We are very proud to be associated with such a fabulous organisation. If you'd like to find out more join in, or make a donation, head to the 261 website - Move the world - 261® Fearless
