NESTLE CLIMBDOWN ON HEATHY CEREAL LABEL THANKS TO BRISTOL-BASED CAMPAIGNER

NESTLE CLIMBDOWN ON HEATHY CEREAL LABEL THANKS TO BRISTOL-BASED CAMPAIGNER

A small victory, but a delicious one!

Following on from my healthy breakfast blog - Breakfast...how to get to lunchtime without the hunger pangs - I am delighted to say that Nestlé, one of the world's biggest food manufacturers, have taken steps to relabel the nutritional benefits of their recently launched KitKat cereal. Yes, another chocolate-based cereal on the market! Challenging Nestlé's description on the cereal as 'nutritious' I took to LinkedIn and Twitter, which got me into a conversation with Henry Dimbleby, former government food tsar and founder of healthy food restaurant chain Leon....and a storm was raised!

Spreading the #Enerjoy!

My LinkedIn post exploded with nearly 14,000 reads and a host of comments and shares. Amazing support, so thank you to everyone who engaged 🙏

Nestlé replacing 'nutritious' for 'indulgent'

Following our campaigning, Nestlé have now advised that they will be withdrawing the nutritious claim, replacing it with 'an occasional, indulgent breakfast option'. Result!!

Can you resist a KitKat?

At Kate Percy's we’re dedicated to providing #EnerjoyThat's nutritious, nourishing great-tasting food options supported by the knowledge and skills that are needed to lead a healthier lives.

Launching new ultra-processed foods like this KitKat cereal doesn't help the cause in the slightest. With all the knowledge and willpower in the world, it’s hard to turn down a second helping of this chocolatey-milky crunchiness. It's addictive...and indulgent.

I mean, whoever keeps to the 30g recommended serving?!

Here is the most recent press release :)  A good case of David and Goliath I’d say 😊
